Kottayam : As part of the “Thalachaykkanoridam” housing project jointly implemented by Seva Bharathi and the K. Chittilappilly Foundation, the key handover ceremony of a house built for the family of late Shri Vishwanathan was held on the morning of 23/02/2026 at Aymanam Panchayat in Kottayam district. The function was presided over by Smt. Anita Madhu, President of Seva Bharathi Aymanam. Union Minister George Kurian handed over the keys of the house. Kumari Jyothika Vishwanath, daughter of late Shri Vishwanathan, received the key from the Union Minister. Dr. Jayalakshmi Ammal, State Vice President of Seva Bharathi, presented the memento. Adv. N. Shankar Ram, Dakshina Prant Karyakari Sadasya of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, delivered the message of service. Shri Vishwanathan had long cherished the dream of building a safe home for his two daughters. However, his untimely demise due to cancer prevented the fulfillment of that dream. Subsequently, the house in which the family had been living collapsed, leaving the mother and her two daughters in distress.
In this situation, local workers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh stepped in to support the family. After consulting with Seva Bharathi, necessary steps were taken to provide a secure home. With the cooperation of the K. Chittilappilly Foundation, the construction of the house—comprising two bedrooms, a hall, a kitchen, a sit-out, and a bathroom—was completed swiftly. Union Minister George Kurian remarked that the noble initiative was made possible through the collective efforts of many well-wishers and that such activities would bring positive changes to society. He especially appreciated the dedicated work of Seva Bharathi and the supportive role of the K. Chittilappilly Foundation. As part of the ceremony, a fruit sapling was planted in the courtyard as a symbol of friendship. Aymanam Grama Panchayat Vice President Anu Siva Prasad, Ward Member Vaishnavi C.S., Maitri Residents Association President Lakshminarayanan, Seva Bharathi Aymanam Unit Secretary Mahesh P.K., and Treasurer P.S. Muralidhar extended their greetings. Renowned Carnatic musician Mathangi Sathyamoorthy rendered an invocation. The head of the family, Suseela T.K., delivered the vote of thanks.
